Exclusive: John making smart moves to expand his production house

Actor/producer John Abraham has impressed many with his production skills with movies such as Madras Café and Vicky Donor, which were produced under his banner, JA Entertainment. While the audience, too, gave his films a lot of love, John himself has made it clear that he wants to do different kinds of movies with good content as a producer. In a recent interview with this paper, he had even said that the next 10 years will be the best phase of his life as an actor and that he is on the verge of making a few announcements in the next few months.

To this end, John has roped in a big gun to bolster his production house. And that person is Sanyukta Shaikh Chawla, who was previously a script-writer for Yash Raj Films. It so happens that John and his new colleague are quite like-minded in the kind of films they want to do and have connected really well with each other.

Telling us about this development, John says, “I have roped in an ex-head of film development at Yash Raj and she will be helping me seed content. She is a writer and she co-wrote Neerja. She has the required sense of emotion and ethos. She hasn’t come in as a writer, but rather to help me structure my scripts. I wanted someone who is like-minded for this role.”
