Sonakshi Sinha evidently is as comfortable behind the mic as she is in front of the camera.

Mumbai: After debuting as a singer with the hit single ‘Aaj Dil Ishqholic Hai’ with Meet Bros Anjjan, actress Sonakshi Sinha is back behind the mic. She’ll soon be seen crooning for her upcoming action potboiler 'Akira'. The AR Murugadoss directorial will have the 'Dabangg' actress sing a song, the lyrics of which go, “Hai ranjishein tere mere darmiyaan zindagi gunjayishein samjhoton ki dur tak dikhti nahi”. The music of the movie is composed by acclaimed duo, Vishal-Shekhar.

Sonakshi described her ending up doing the song as a ‘spur of the moment thing’. “It (the song) is about how the girl will not stay silent, but fight back and that’s the spirit of the song. We were shooting the music video and every time I went to give a shot I would end up singing it with all my zest. It’s just one of those songs. So the producers suggested that I should record it as well. Everyone was shocked because I spent a total of 30 minutes behind the mic! It was a fantastic experience and totally the kind of zone that I want to be in. Hai ranjishein... is the kind of song I have always wanted to sing. Shekhar (Ravjiani) was also encouraging and that helped a lot”, she was quoted as saying.

'Akira' has Sonakshi playing a badass college girl with Anurag Kashyap appearing in an antagonistic support act. Akira also stars Konkona Sen Sharma.

The song releases next week and fans are eagerly awaiting Sonakshi’s tryst with the mic. So are we!
