Shilpa Shetty Kundra is not known only for her thumkas but for her hourglass figure that has given many girls a run for their money. The credit for her sexy figure goes to her passion for yoga and healthy eating.

And having delivered a baby a few years’ back, the actress had her share of struggles with weight loss post pregnancy.

“People may think it’s easy for Shilpa Shetty to lose weight as she can hire a trainer. But it is not about that but about discipline. It’s about choosing the lifestyle you want and it’s about deciding what is important for me. It was not important to get into waist size eight for me but to be fit,” says Shilpa who launched her second book The Diary Of A Domestic Diva.

The book aims to share quick and hassle-free methods of cooking healthy, nutritious and delicious meals, all of which have been favourites in the Shetty-Kundra household.

“I love cooking. I like doing new things and I am getting a lot of appreciation for my book. I try to give a modern twist to all the recipes and it’s all easy to make,” she says.

Recalling her post-pregnancy days when she gained those extra kilos,  Shilpa says she was not shying away from the media.

“I was worried to come in front of the media because nothing was fitting me. This was till seven months of my baby and that’s when I realized it’s time to shed the excess weight,” says the Dhadkan actress.

Not many know, but this extremely health-conscious actress has completely removed sugar from her life.

She says, “I have given it up and I feel proud as a mother because it has not been easy. If I am preaching something I should also be following it. I have found substitutes like maple syrup or jaggery. And it’s not difficult to adapt.”

Even her six-year-old son, Viaan is following mom’s footsteps. “After I started, my husband picked it followed by my son. It’s easy when a family does it together. I have been fairly lucky,” she smiles.
