#MeToo: Anu Malik banned at Yash Raj Films studios
The other key names, including Alok Nath and Sajid Khan, have also been banned from entering Yash Raj’s studios.
While Indian Idol ended its boycott of #MeToo accused Anu Malik, the Yash Raj Films (YRF) studios remain out of bounds for the tainted composer.
A source from the YRF team said on the matter: “Anu Malik is not allowed to enter the Yash Raj studio gates. They have a non-negotiable policy to stand firm against people accused of sexual harassment. Last year, they sacked their senior executive Ashish Patel after he was accused of sexual misconduct.”
The other key names in the #MeToo movement, including Alok Nath and Sajid Khan, have also been banned from entering Yash Raj’s studios. The movement claimed many casualties in Bollywood last year, after actress Tanushree Dutta spoke up about her harrowing experience.
Latest reports suggest that Indian Idol allowing Malik to return to the show has caused a wave of dismay among #MeToo supporters.
