Rashmika donates for Wayanad fund

Rashmika Mandanna, who hails from Kodagu district in Karnataka, has donated ₹10 lakh towards relief work at Wayanad district which had recently faced severe landslides as a mark of her generosity. With her donation towards flood relief fund she becomes one of the few actresses who have shown financial backing for those affected in the region.


Earlier, Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram announced a ₹20 lakh donation for rescue and relief operations through Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This contribution was confirmed by Yuvraj who manages Vikram which has received wide attention both from fans and public alike.

The death toll has tragically risen to 285 as rescue operations continue. In Wayanad, health workers are tirelessly providing critical care to injured survivors and doing post-mortems on the dead.

On Tuesday morning, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala and Noolpuzha hamlets were hit by massive landslides caused by heavy rains. According to the State Health Minister Veena George by 7 am today, there had been 256 autopsies done on both full bodies and parts of bodies. Among these, the district administration has already taken into its custody 154 bodies which have been autopsied. These autopsies were performed on human remains recovered from Pothukal area in Malappuram district.
