Deepika to be Suhana’s on-screen mom
‘King’ brings new twist to popular SRK-Deepika pairing;
Deepika Padukone is all set to play mother to Suhana Khan in the action thriller King. The film, which stars Shahrukh Khan, has been making news since it was confirmed in January. Helmed by Pathaan filmmaker Siddharth Anand, it brings Shahrukh Khan and his daughter Suhana together on screen.
As per sources, Deepika Padukone has been roped in to play a key character in the film. Her role is an extended cameo in the renege drama. “It’s a father-daughter story, and Deepika in all likelihood will be playing Suhana’s mother. Her character is pivotal to the plot,” said a source.
Deepika had played both wife and mother to Shahrukh Khan in Jawan. “From Om Shanti Om to Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan and Jawan, the SRK-Deepika pairing is loved by audiences.
This film will be Suhana’s first theatrical release.
