Disha Patani to strike a chord with Telugu audience

Bollywood actress Disha Patani should be hoping to gain a Telugu following with the release of her upcoming film ‘Kanguva’ which is being dubbed into Telugu and being promoted well. ‘She is doing a significant role and bound to grab the attention of Telugu filmmakers and fans as well," says a director who claims that Disha was last seen in a cameo in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. “She made her debut in Telugu with ‘Loafer’ but the film failed to impress and denied her plans to settle down in Tollywood," he adds.

Thereafter, when her maiden Bollywood film “M S Dhoni’ turned out to be a hit, she was confined to Bollywood. "She also tasted success with ‘Bhaagi 2’ and was seen in Hindi movies like ‘Ek Villain Returns’, ‘Bharat’ and ‘Malang’ before returning to Tollywood with “Kalki 2898 AD’,” he points out.

With Bollywood divas like Janvhi Kapoor, Norah Fatehi, and Mrunal Thakur getting busy in Telugu films, she has a good chance to bag one or two plum offers. “Bollywood actresses are paired opposite Telugu stars to offer some fresh pairing to the audience and pretty looking Disha also has some chance to park herself in Hyderabad. If ‘Kanguva’ rocks the Telugu box office, Disha has more chances to make her mark in Tollywood which was missed in 2015,” he concludes.
