Franco-ly disappointing
James Franco is accused of sexually exploiting his acting school’s female students.
In January 2018, five women had shared their experiences at James Franco’s acting school Studio 4, alleging that James would walk off the sets angrily if actresses refused to take their tops off for scenes. James had it easy then as the women only demanded real change and an apology.
But today, he’s facing new accusations of sexual misconduct.
Sarah Tither-Kaplan, one of the original four complainants, and another student, Toni Gaal, are filing a lawsuit in which they’ve accused Franco of engaging in “widespread inappropriate and sexually charged behaviour towards female students by sexualising their power as a teacher and an employer by dangling the opportunity for roles in their projects.” The women also claim that Franco’s partners, Vince Jolivette and Davis Jay, were involved in these activities.
While last year, James had denied accuracy in the students’ claims but admitted that a conversation was needed, he’s now defending himself. His attorney, Michael Plonsker’s told E! News these claims “have already been debunked.”
As reported E! News has reached out to Franco’s attorney and Jolivette and Jay, but couldn’t reach them in time.
