Beyoncé’s latest visual album Lemonade had rumours flying left, right and centre about its tracks being about Jay Z’s alleged infidelity, especially the lyric “He only want me when I’m not there, he better call Becky with the good hair”.

However, the song’s main writer Diana Gordon has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the lyric doesn’t refer to any one in particular, and that the whole controversy is plain “silly”. “I laughed, like this is so silly. Where are we living? I was like, ‘What day in age from that lyric do you get all of this information? Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?’” Diana said.
