Dixie Chicks, Beyoncé face racist hate
The CMAs took down the video, but later put it back up after the Dixie Chicks themselves lashed out
A day after making headlines for their show-stopping performance at the Country Music Awards (CMA), singer Beyoncé and country band the Dixie Chicks were hit with racial abuse on the CMA website, when videos of their performance was put up. According to TMZ.com, the site received comments such as, “That’s right folks. Beyoncé performed at the CMAs last night & is on a mission to take country music away from us, hardworking white people!” and “Beyoncé overrated racist n***er b***h.” The CMAs took down the video, but later put it back up after the Dixie Chicks themselves lashed out, writing on Twitter along with the link to their collaboration, “If we all turn this up really loud, together we can drown out the hate.”
