'Pirate' Johnny Depp to star in Richard Says Goodbye

Mumbai: Johnny Depp is all set to take a leap from 'pirate' world to the 'college' world.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 53-year-old actor is teaming up with filmmaker Wayne Roberts for 'Richard Says Goodbye.'

In the movie, the ' Alice through the Looking Glass' star will be playing a college professor that receives a life-changing diagnosis that causes him to throw every previously held caution to the wind.

IM Global will fully finance the feature, which is being produced by Greg Shapiro and frequent Jeff Nichols collaborator Automatik's Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.

'Richard Says Goodbye' will be presented to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, with IM Global handling international rights and CAA handling all domestic.

On the work front, Johnny Depp will be next seen in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,' alongside Javier Bardem, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush.

The flick is slated to release on May 26 in the United States.
