Los Angeles: The director behind FX's acclaimed 'People vs. O.J. Simpson' miniseries is set to tackle another true crime drama, this one based on the unsolved deaths of rappers Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls.

The Hollywood Reporter says USA Network has ordered a pilot for 'Unsolved', which will be directed by Anthony Hemingway. The Reporter says the story will revolve around the experiences of former Los Angeles police detective Greg Kading, who is consulting on the show. Kading has investigated the killings and wrote a book about the crimes.

Shakur and B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher Wallace, were involved in a bitter feud when Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas in 1996. Wallace was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles six months later.
