Actor David Cassidy, who shot to fame with the show The Partridge Family, is in critical condition due to organ failure. According to reports on People.com, Cassidy was in a medically induced coma but is now conscious and surrounded by family, including his son Beau Cassidy, ex-wife Sue Shifrin and brother Patrick Cassidy.

He was admitted in the hospital earlier this week and is currently in need of a liver transplant, his rep confirmed. Cassidy, who watched his grandfather battle the disease and witnessed his mother “disappear” into dementia until she died at age 89, said, “I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming.”
