Kim Kardashian talks about blackface controversy
About the racism allegations, Kim said that she didn't mean to offend anyone.
Kim K received much backlash after she was accused of putting on a blackface for her recent Kim Kardashian beauty ad. It’s the kind of makeup that non-black people use to represent a black person, and is usually used in theatrical performances. Now, the model is speaking out, and says that she didn’t mean to tick anybody off.
In an interview with New York Times, the 36-year-old said, “I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it. (sic)”
She went on, “Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely, I have learned from it.”
