Marvel’s women
There’s soon going to be female Thor and standalone Black Widow and Scarlet Witch films
So Marvel’s finally decided to bring in its female force. According to People, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, and Elizabeth Olsen have all announced some major roles in upcoming Marvel films.
Elizabeth Olsen, Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, will be seen in a Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, scheduled for May-2021. Before that, in May 2020, there’s a standalone Scarlet Witch film, which will have Scarlett Johansson and Rachel Weisz in it.
“I don’t think I could’ve played this version of Natasha 10 years ago. I get to play her as a fully realised woman. I’m looking to wipe out some of the red from my ledger,” Johansson said.
During the event, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige introduced director Taika Waititi, who unveiled the logo and title of the fourth of the Thor franchise, Thor Love and Thunder, scheduled for November-2021. And Natalie Portman was announced as female Thor.
“Feels pretty good. I’ve always had a little hammer in me,” said Natalie.
