Taylor Swift's new single sparks speculations
Fans of the singer suspect that the track is about Katy Perry or Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
Taylor Swift’s new single Look What You Made Me Do from her album Reputation has got her fans guessing who the dark, hard-hitting track is about. JustJared.com reported that the suspects include Katy Perry or the couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Taylor and Kanye have had bones to pick with each other since Kanye’s controversial track Famous, and now, Reputaion’s release date is on November 10, the same day that will mark the 10th death anniversary of Kanye West’s mother, Donda West.
However, a source close to Taylor’s record label told E! News, “It is a standard practice that releases come out on Fridays and we locked in this date based on other Universal Music Group releases. There is no correlation.”
Then, Taylor and Katy have been in a public feud for years after the former allegedly accused Katy of stealing dancers from her tour. The song starts with, “I don’t like your little games / Don’t like your tilted stage / The role you made me play / Of the fool, no, I don’t like you.”
The line that says the enemy “locked me out and threw a feast,” suggests Katy’s “Bon Appetit,” a video in which she throws a feast, believe fans. There are also some allegations that the video of the song is ripped off of Beyoncé’s Lemonade track Sorry, since they share quite a few similarities.
Nicky Minaj took to Twitter to comment “N**ga, stay humble,” and fans believe that it is addressed to Swift, with whom she too has had issues.
