Rap impresario and co-founder of the label Death Row Records, Suge Knight, has sued rapper Chris brown, singer Pia Mia and a California night club in connection with a shooting that left him with seven gunshots in August 2014. Knight, 51, was shot in the abdomen, chest and left forearm.

According to sources, Knight says Brown and 1 OAK Nightclub should have provided him with better security. He is alleging Brown in a suit, for being a “known gang associate” with a history of hosting events where violent incidents happened. He’s also suing singer Pia Mia, who had co-hosted the party.

Knight claimed that since the shooting he’s had major health complications, including a blood clot. The suit lists 30 other defendants whom it identifies as co-owners of the club. In the year 2015, Knight was involved in a hit-and-run incident that killed Terry Carter, the co-founder of Heavyweight Records. Knight is currently in jail awaiting trial for murder, reports NBC.com
