Matthew McConaughey goes back to college

The news of Matt becoming a professor was announced by the university on Twitter on August 28.

Matthew McConaughey, the Oscar-winning actor who graduated from UT Austin with a film degree in 1993, has joined the faculty at his alma mater The University of Texas at Austin.

According to Justjared, the 49-year-old actor who’s been a visiting professor at the university since 2015 will be teaching the script to screen class for the Moody College of Communication.

The news of Matt becoming a professor was announced by the university on Twitter on August 28. The tweet had a photo of Matt and several students in a classroom.

“In recognition of his professional pedigree and personal investment in student success, Matthew McConaughey has been appointed a #TEXASMoody professor of practice. @McConaughey will continue to teach the #UTScriptoScreen class in @UTRTF,” the tweet read.
