Did Karan Johar advise Janhvi to work with NTR?

Bollywood diva Janhvi Kapoor reportedly followed the advice of Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and made her debut in Tollywood. “After working in Bollywood, she wanted to move to the south and shared her idea with Karan Johar who advises her at times,” says a source. When she had the option of choosing between Tamil superstar Vijay in Kollwood and Telugu star Jr NTR in Tollywood, Karan reportedly urged her to work with NTR. “NTR has become a global star after ‘RRR’ and also a very talented actor. So, Karan urged her to make her debut with NTR since his film ‘Devara’ will have a wider reach. Thereafter, she began her stint in Tollywood,” he adds.
He also told her that her late mother and veteran actress Sridevi was the uncrowned queen in Tollywood in the 80s and 90s and she would receive more support from Telugu viewers. “She immediately signed another big film with Ram Charan and her career has taken off even before the release of her debut Telugu film, so Karan has predicted right,’ he adds. She is playing the role of a village belle and has matched dance steps with top dancer NTR in their latest chartbuster ‘Daavudi’ and was looking sensuous in other numbers ‘Chuttamalle’ and set the screens on fire, he points out.
He further says, “Janhvi worked with lesser-known actors like Rajkumar Rao, Varun Dhawan, and Sunny Khoshal which didn’t give her the chance to compete with the likes of Deepika Padukone in Bollywood. However, in T-town, she is working with A-listers like NTR and Ram Charan and is going to give Telugu heroines like Rashmika, Pooja Hegde, and Tamannaah a run for their money."
