Susienthiran shoots live' kabbadi matches
Susi has completed the Bharathiraja- Sasikumar starrer in Salem, Erode, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Coimbatore, Mumbai and Ahmadabad.
In order give an authentic touch to his upcoming flick Kennedy Club, which is on women kabbadi, director Susienthiran is traveling all over India to shoot ‘live’ women kabbadi matches, in places where the sport is being played passionately. Susi has completed the Bharathiraja- Sasikumar starrer in Salem, Erode, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Coimbatore, Mumbai and Ahmadabad.
“The phase involved the entire team to travel day and night at a stretch. Since, these were the real locales where kabbadi games are held, the shooting had to be planned 10 days prior to it. Moreover, these scenes had to be filmed with huge crowds that took three days to assemble them together and was shot using 4-camera set ups, which was a huge challenge involving heavy work and budget,” reveals the director.
A grand set work of kabbadi ground that facilitates 25,000 spectators has been erected at Isadpur in Maharashtra. Susi says the final leg will be shot in Punjab-Haryana, where there are about 600 women kabbadi team.
Others in the star cast include Samuthirakani, Soori, Munishkanth, newcomer Meenakshi, Gayathri, Sowmya, Smirthi and Soundarya in important roles. While D Imman is composing the music, RB Gurudev is handling cinematography.
