More of the Beep' phenomenon
The Beep Song controversy involving Simbu and Anirudh hasn't faded from the memory of Tamil audiences yet.
The Beep Song controversy involving Simbu and Anirudh hasn’t faded from the memory of Tamil audiences yet. To cash in on the attention it created, here comes a young actor-filmmaker Raja Subbaiah, who first hit the headlines with his debut film Saravanan Engira Suriya, that faced the wrath of actor Suriya, as the star’s given name is Saravanan! Later, Raja changed the title to Bose Pandi, but unfortunately it never got released.
Now, for his second directorial venture Tea Kadai Raja, in which he also plays the lead protagonist, he has released a trailer using the line Beep Podu. Neha, who has done few films including Ivanukku Thannila Gandam, has been roped in as the female lead.
Talking to DC, Raja says, “Tea... has black humour, with a tinge of romance. Normally, the title refers to dumb and innocent guys in the rural setup.” He adds, “Beep Podu has been used only in the trailer, to raise curiosity. It’s a fun-filled romantic number and there’s no demeaning or derogatory stuff there. Technically, this is my first release as a director and I am proud that a biggie like Thenandal Films is releasing the film under their banner.”
