South fans are very loyal: Kajal Aggarwal
Kajal Aggarwal says she's a South Indian at heart, talks about her latest movies and how she's open to acting in Marathi films.
Kajal Aggarwal, born and brought up in Mumbai in a Punjabi family, says she is a South Indian at heart. “Having worked from an early age down South, I am definitely loyal towards the movies there. However, Bollywood and Tollywood are like my babies. I cannot choose one.”
All praises for the fans down South, Kajal, who has a large fan following, says, “Unlike Bollywood, fans here are very loyal. If they like one actor, no matter how many of their movies flop, they will always love them. In Hindi, if a movie of a favourite actor bombs at box office, they will instantly say, “Let’s move on”.
She has quite a few projects which is keeping her busy. “I’m doing two Tamil films now – one with Vikram and another with Jeeva. I will start one Telugu political drama with Rana soon. For the first time, I will be playing a politically - driven character,” she says.
Kajal will be playing a visually-impaired girl in Do Lafzoon ki Kahani in which she is pitted opposite Randeep Hooda. “I learnt a lot on people who are visually impaired. They hate self pity and learn lessons on using various technical instruments.
While pouring water into a glass, they check with one finger not to spill it.” Kajal is also open to working in Marathi films. “My favourite film is Atul Kulkarni’s Natrang. Regional films are doing well these days. I am open to doing any regional film, but I will have to work on the language, which will be a Herculean task,” says Kajal.
