Live instruments enhance the soul of songs: Ilaiyraaja
The movie will mark the actor, director and producer's third collaboration after Dharmadurai and the yet-to-release Idam Porul Yaevel.
Yuvan Shankar Raja was clearly very excited to have his father and renowned music composer Ilaiyaraaja attend the audio launch of his maiden production, Pyaar Prema Kaadhal.
Ushering him to the stage, Yuvan said, “I have composed music for 120 films, but my father has never attended the music launch of any one of them. He’s always said that he won’t promote me. Now, I’ve invited him for the music launch of PPK, my maiden production venture, and he has agreed to come.”
Ilaiyaraaja responded in his inimitable style, saying, “I am here for the sake of Pyaar Prema Kaadhal — the three words that denote nothing but love. It is my love for my son that has brought me here.”
Dispensing some invaluable advice to budding music composers, he added, “Use actual, live instruments instead of techno-music. That will enhance the soul of your songs.”
The audio launch was attended by a host of actors, composers and filmmakers who share a good rapport with Yuvan, including Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya, STR, Jayam Ravi, Krishna, Raam, Ameer, Santhosh Narayanan, GV Prakash, Imman and Sam CS.
At the event, Yuvan announced that he would be producing Vijay Sethupathi’s next film directed by Seenu Ramasamy. The movie will mark the actor, director and producer’s third collaboration after Dharmadurai and the yet-to-release Idam Porul Yaevel.
