I'm still growing as an actor: Vikranth
The Kavan actor talks about his next release, Samuthirakani's Thondan.
It’s safe to say that Vikranth started the second innings of his career with Paandiyanaadu. Though a small role, it had left an impact on the audience. Since then, the actor has been choosing his roles carefully, and they have been paying off quite well. In a chat with DC, the Kavan actor talks about his next release, Samuthirakani’s Thondan.
“Although I cannot really put my character in a few words, what Kani anna told me is that I play the role of a youngster, who is like a representative of the youth. It will show the audience about the ways a youngster’s life changes due to a few decisions that he takes,” he explains.
Vikranth says he was elated when Samuthirakani, a long-time friend of his, approached him with the film. “He called me one day and said he has the perfect script for me. I didn’t have to think twice before agreeing to do the film. He takes very good care of me, beyond a professional relationship, he keeps making sure I am comfortable with the proceedings of the film.”
Talking about the rise in his career, Vikranth says, “I’m still growing as an actor and getting roles in films by great directors like KV Anand, Samuthirakani and Suseenthiran is exactly what I need right now. These are directors who don’t make characters without meaning. To think that they trust me with characters that convey so much to the audience, I feel grateful.” Vikranth is about to start Kabaddi training for his next film Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu - 2.
