Jyothika, who will be seen as a government school teacher in her upcoming film Raatchasi, is portrayed as a no-nonsense teacher on a mission as seen in the trailer which was out on Friday. Directed by debutant Gautham Raj, she plays Geetha Rani, a tough taskmaster who has taken on the revamping a government school.

The Mozhi actress has had an image makeover and is seen in cotton sarees and a high collared blouse, in the perfect looks of a teacher. It opens with Jyothika mouthing a strong moral dialogue, which goes like this. “If you don’t stop an evil thing that is happening in front of your eyes, then you also become part of that evil thing. Those who combat it find a place in history.”

Geetha Rani also raises a number of tough questions on the poor condition of the school where the students are unruly without any guidance from teachers who are careless and go about doing their own thing. So, she becomes a nightmare to her colleagues in the school. Poornima Bhagyaraj, Sathyan, Hareesh Peradi and Kavitha Bharathi among others will be seen in supporting roles. Jo was last seen as a teacher in Kakka Kakka (2003), but in a stylish avatar. Bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film is set to hit the marquee this June.
