Thirukkural in animated form a hit
The programme teaching the virtues of daily life among the Tamil community has captured the attention of both kids and elders alike.
It’s the first time that Tirukkural, the greatest literary masterpiece ever written on ethics and morality has been presented through animated characters with stories and humor in the right mix. And hosting the series Bommiyum Tirukkuralum is none other than Gnanasambandham, popular debate moderator, writer, actor, and an authority on Tirukkural couplets. His extraordinary sense of humour comes to the fore in this series and the way he handles animated characters Bommi along with her friends is the highpoint of the series.
“The programme teaching the virtues of daily life among the Tamil community has captured the attention of both kids and elders alike. Though people know me through my TV shows and movies, there’s a huge kid fan following for me ever since BTwas aired,” says Sambandham who has also scripted and penned the dialogues.
Recalling an incident when he went to attend a marriage at Madurai he said, “ I was floored when a 3-year-old kid came up to me and said that I am speaking well and her little brother likes me so much. It gave me a new high and I almost felt that I was also of her age. The series is on air between 1.30 and 2pm on Chutti TV.
