Actress Malavika Mohanan has earned the ire of a section of her followers on Instagram by making a comment about TikTok. She was responding to a question by a follower named Srishti Jayin.

When Srishti asked “Where are all the TikTokers going to go now? Malavika promptly answered saying, “Hopefully to a lesser cringe app.”

To this, Srishti said, “Apparently, the next tiktok is an app called ‘Chingari’ that has been founded by boys in a basement. Truly, low-key”.

This set off a series of trolls, though a few of her followers came out in support of the actress.

Check out some of the reactions:

Vijay: Can someone clearly explain what is Cringe?

Naveen Akash: I mean not everyone can get a chance in acting using their cleavage right?

AK Sivakarthikeyan: Neeya Oru Periya Cringe (You yourself are a cringe)

Karun Arun: Athuvum Cringe Neeyum Cringe Than (TikTok is a cringe but so are you)

Renduthum ban paanuga da (Just ban both her and the app)

Adithya: Just as you guys lip sync for someone's random singing they're also doing the same. Tone-down

Hurray: Neenga kamicha modeling avnga kamicha cringe! Narayana ithu oru type ah iruke! (Just like your modelling they show cringe, it is just a different type of cringe)

Though Malavika started with Rajini's film Petta, in which she was paired with Sasikumar, the actress came into the limelight in K'town after she teamed up with biggie Vijay in the yet-to-be-released Master. The glamorous photos she regularly posts on Instagram have also gained her a lot of attention.
