French girl Andrean dubs her own voice
The actress also reveals that she has picked up the language well and did her own dubbing.
When several actresses either from Bollywood or M’wood, who make their debut in Tamil, fear to dub their own voices, here is French model Andrean who is all geared up with her first film Melnaatu Marumagan as the lead heroine in which she dubs for herself. The svelte girl addressed the gathering with her chaste Tamil!
“I am a French girl living in Puducherry for almost 20 years. So, I feel I am more a Tamilian. Though I was active in stage during my college days, I never thought I would act in movies. On earlier occasions, filmmakers have approached me with small roles, but I was not keen to take it up. When director Shahjahan of Melnaatu.. called me over the phone, I took it as one of those usual calls. Later when he said that I was his heroine, I could not believe it. I was also apprehensive to accept the role, because I need to emote, dance, and deliver dialogues in Tamil. But I took it as a challenge and did this. Also, the French-Indian character I play in the movie is what I am in real life.”
The actress also reveals that she has picked up the language well and did her own dubbing. Going with the title, it is a story of a boy essayed by actor Rajkamal in the neighbourhood of Mahabalipuram who is keen to marry a foreigner for apparent reasons — he is fond of fair-skinned women and also for better prospects!
