Mani Ratnam’s surprise visit to film sets

Sources said the director spent close to two hours at the shoot, seated behind a monitor and observing the scene.

Mani Ratnam is a filmmaker who seldom visits his production ventures. It came as a surprise then that he was recently spotted on the sets of Vaanam Kottatum, bankrolled  by his Madras Talkies and directed by his protege Dhanashekar.

The director was canning a few crucial scenes of real life couple Radhikaa and Sarathkumar who play reel life pair as well in and the shooting of VK was on in a house in Triplicane. Mani, who has penned the story, was accompanied by his wife Suhasini. Sources said the director spent close to two hours at the shoot, seated behind a monitor and observing the scene.

A family entertainer, the film has an ensemble cast of Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Madonna Sabastian, Shanthanu and Amitash. It also marks the debut of popular singer Sid Sriram as music director.
