Vijay Sethupathi croons for Prabhu Deva in Wolf
Fantasy thriller to be released in multiple languages
Vinoo Venkatesh, who helmed the fantasy horror thriller Cinderella, is now ready with his next film, Wolf. Also a fantasy thriller, this film has folklore elements and is his 60th project. It stars Prabhu Deva and Anju Kurian.
In an interview with DC, Vinoo said, “The story begins 600 years ago in the Godavari belt. It focuses on a sect that worships Chedipe, referred to as a witch-vampire. In contemporary times, we follow Prabhu Deva’s character, a writer whose best works are inspired by his indulgence in drink. After he writes a historical book, a strange connection between him and the present generation of those worshipping Chedipe emerges, and the consequences are narrated in a thrilling manner.”
About the title Vinoo says, “Wolf is used metaphorically. Wolves are considered cunning animals that attack their enemies as a pack. I have attributed this quality to the followers of Chedipe. Similarly, wolves are known for their sharpness, a quality that Prabhu Deva’s character possesses.”
The ensemble cast also features Anasuya Bharadwaj, Raai Lakshmi, Sri Gopika and Ramesh Thilak. Vinoo himself will be seen as a prince in the period segment.
Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi has lent his voice for a lively bar song titled Single Malt, composed by Amrish Ganesh. The song will showcase Prabhu Deva’s unique dance style. Produced by Sandesh Nagaraj, Wolf is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
