Prabhudeva's next is a period film
The actor will play the hero in Yung Mung Chung, an action comedy directed by MS Arjun.
After Devi(L)’s stupendous success in Tamil and Telugu, actor-director-choreographer-producer Prabhudeva is all set to kick-start his next project. He will now be seen as the hero in debutant director MS Arjun’s Yung Mung Chung, produced by K S Srinivasan and KS Sivaraman for Vasans Visual Ventures banner. Speaking to DC, director MS Arjun says, “This is a period drama that will chronicle the events from 1970 to 1987. Yung Mung Chung is an action comedy, in which Prabhudeva will play a Kung Fu specialist. Shooting of this film will commence in February and we are looking for a suitable female lead.”
The film also boasts of a huge cast. “Director and actor Thangar Bachan plays Prabhudeva’s dad in the movie alongside RJ Balaji, Prabhakar of Baahubali fame, Chithra Lakshmanan and Kumki Ashwin. Also, we have roped in experienced art director D Rajan, who has an in-depth knowledge about period films and artworks related to it,” he adds. When asked about Prabhudeva’s reaction after listening to the story, the director shares, “I worked on the script for nearly two years and it took one and a half hours for me to narrate the entire story. After a week, Prabhu sir agreed to come on board and started his preparations for the movie right after the release of Devi(L).”
Cinematographer RB Gurudev and music director Amresh are part of the technical team. MS Arjun has served as an assistant director to Mundasupatti Ramkumar and Indru Netru Naalai Ravikumar in the past.
