Tamil dubbed Telugu movies are a preferred lot in B and C centres and they also manage to grab ample theaters for their release.

The latest one to follow this suit is Yevanda, that is the dubbed version of Telugu entertainer Balupu, which featured Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan and Anjali in the lead. Directed by Gopichand, a former assistant of AR Murugadoss, the movie had Thaman scoring the music.

Speaking at the promo event of Yevanda, Thaman said, “It was a ‘do or die’ situation for me and Gopichand when we were part of Balupu. We badly needed a hit then and it was really challenging. Finally we made it, and it turned out to be a blockbuster.  We both are here to cherish those memories.”

The movie was also said to have steadied Shruti’s market in the Telugu industry.

Rajarajan, known for his writing skills in dubbed films, has been roped in for the dialogues.
