Parvathy Nair in Priyadarshan's next
The actress will play the female lead in the Tamil remake of Maheshinte Prathikaaram.
Parvathy Nair, who made a stunning debut in director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Yennai Arindhaal, went on to be part of several films in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. Though her performance in the recently-released Enkitta Mothathe was appreciated, the film did middling business at the box-office.
The Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga actress has now bagged the opportunity to star in National Award-winning director Priyadarshan’s upcoming film starring Udhayanidhi Stalin. This untitled film is an adaptation of Malayalam super hit Maheshinte Prathikaaram. “She was in talks for a while and was extremely excited to come on board. Parvathy plays one of the female leads, alongside Namitha Pramod in the Tamil version. But, her characterisation won’t be the same as that of the Malayalam version. It has been tweaked to suit the Tamil audience,” the source revealed.
Udhayanidhi will be reprising Fahadh Faasil’s role in the movie while Samuthirakani and MS Bhaskar will play significant roles. Currently, Priyadarshan is working on the script and the principal shooting is expected to commence in a couple of months.
In an earlier interview to DC, Priyadarshan stated that Udhayanidhi was his first choice and that the film is a comedy-drama that will relate with the audiences.
Mahenshinte Prathikaaram, a revenge comedy, was based on the popular real life personality Thampan Purushan, a native of Thuravoor in Kerala.
