A biopic on J Jayalalithaa
Now, a veteran director has decided to wield the megaphone for an untitled film about the late politician.
Ever since the tragic demise of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, there have been tributes from the cine industry hailing her achievements. Sooner or later, the entire film fraternity was expecting a director to make a film on Amma’s promising career as an actress and politician.
Now, a veteran director has decided to wield the megaphone for an untitled film about the late politician. Director Dasari Narayana Rao, who has been in the Telugu industry for nearly four decades, will be helming the biopic. Speaking to DC, Narayana Rao says, “Currently, I am in the process of penning the script for the film. It will be a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu. Since I haven’t finalised the script, I am not thinking about the cast at present.”
When asked if he had met Sasikala Natrajan, a close friend of Amma, to document her life, Narayana Rao reveals, “I haven’t met anyone as of now. The idea of a biopic just struck me and it will take a while for me to confirm things.”
In the past, Ramya Krishnan and Trisha have expressed their interest in playing the role of Jayalalithaa on screen. It will be exciting to see who gets to play the iconic character on screen.
