Vijay Antony is a role model cop
Titled Thimiru Pudichavan (arrogant man), it is directed by Ganeshaa, a former assistant of ace SS. Rajamouli.
Donning a khaki uniform and essaying a cop is the dream of every actor in tinsel town. The latest one to join the bandwagon is music composer turned hero Vijay Antony. Known for choosing quirky scripts and titles, Antony’s cop film is no different. Titled Thimiru Pudichavan (arrogant man), it is directed by Ganeshaa, a former assistant of ace SS. Rajamouli.
Talking to DC, Ganeshaa says, “He is not the regular cop who takes on villains like you see in Tamil cinema. He rather uses his brain to move the coins. This will be a special film in Vijay Antony’s career.”
Ask him why the title and he replies, “Vijay Antony is not a haughty person, but he will be seen as one from others’ point of view. So, it went well with the script and moreover, we felt it is colloquial and catchy (smiles).”
Revealing more, he says, “Teenage is the most crucial age where they take choices in term of their career or right choices to achieve their dreams. Parents should guide them carefully. That’s the message which Vijay Antony imparts to youth and be a role model in the film.”
On his preparations, he says, “He is learning the body language and attitude of a policeman from a real life inspector.” There is a silambam episode towards climax in the movie set against a Chennai backdrop, which will be unique, Ganeshaa adds. While Richard Nathan is the cinematographer, Vijay Antony has also taken the onus of editing and composing the music.
