Srinath Ramalingam, who debuted with a horror film Unakenna Venum Sollu, has shifted gears in commencing his next film, which has a dog as its central character. Titled Anbulla Ghilli, a Labrador plays the titular character.

“It is not an investigative subject, rather it’s a romantic drama, where the dog predominantly narrates the script. Dogs are said to be man’s best friend. Anbulla Ghilli delves into the pure love and bond shared between a dog and its master.”
And why this title, we ask. “The dog’s name is Ghilli and the title is derived sort of from Anbulla Rajinikanth.  Apparently, like his master, Ghilli is an ardent fan of Thalapathy Vijay in the film and watches the films of the star.”

There’s a romantic track too for him, he adds with a smile. The young director says that Ghilli is actually his own dog and he has been training him for the role for the last four years. “I adopted him four years ago and in a way it is my own story, the bond I share with him. His association made me a better human being.”
While ace Balasubramaniem is the cinematographer, Arrol Corelli composes music. The makers are yet to finalise the cast and other crew.
