While Guru plays the protagonist in one of the stories, Anand will be seen as the lead in another episode.
Guru Somasundaram, who was critically acclaimed for his performance in the political satire Joker, has all of a sudden, become a highly sought-after actor. He joins the ensemble cast of Charuhasan (who returns after a long gap), Nasser, Anand Samy and Lakshmi Priya for the quirky project Odu Raja Odu, which is directed by the duo Nishanth Ravindhran and Jatin Shankar.
Jatin says, “It’s a black comedy narrated in hyperlink style. There are five different stories, with one incident leading to another.”
On roping in Charuhasan, he says, “We felt he was apt for the role of a retired gangster. When we approached and narrated the script, he was glad to join us. He was amazing.”
While Guru plays the protagonist in one of the stories, Anand will be seen as the lead in another episode. About the songs, he adds, “We have only montage songs scored by Tosh, a student of AR Rahman’s KM Conservatory. But, the background score, which is important for these kinds of films, wasn’t that easy. We worked on it for several days.”
