Vetri Maaran and Kathiresan team up again
Sasikumar to star in new film
After almost a decade, two veterans - Vetri Maaran and Kathiresan - are collaborating for a film.
Director Vetri Maaran debuted with a Dhanush film, Polladhavan, which was also the debut production of Kathiresan under his banner Five Star Creations. The duo then joined up again for Aadukalam, which also featured Dhanush. The film won national awards for the lead actor and Vetri Maaran, and in four other categories.
Subsequently, Kathiresan made acclaimed films like Jigarthanda. Vetri forayed into production under the Grass Root Films Company banner and made films like Udayam, Vada Chennai, Kakka Muttai, and Visaranai. The last two made it to the National Awards and Visaranai was also India’s nomination for the 89th Academy Awards.
The new film stars actor/filmmaker Sasikumar. While Vetri Maaran is writing the story and screenplay for the film, the director and other cast and crew will be announced soon.
The movie is likely to go on the floors after the Pongal festival in mid-January next year.
