Theatre artiste-comedienne Vidyullekha Raman of Neethane En Ponvasantham fame, lost her passport in Vienna where she was holidaying with her friends recently. Two strangers distracted her in the hotel lobby where she was staying and snatched her handbag that had her passport and money!

A man who entered distracted me for a second. He asked me how to get to an address and by the time I said I don’t know. His friend came from behind and took it. Shocked. Hope embassy helps.”

Vidyu added, “Devastating to have had a fab trip with friends and it ends on a sour note with all money, passport and valuables lost. Fate I guess.”  The actress had also tweeted to the Prime Minister of India and Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs, “My bag has been stolen with passport, cards and currency in my hotel lobby. Need to contact the Indian embassy asap in Vienna. A big thanks to everyone who gave me info and helped me out. The Indian Embassy in Vienna has issued a temporary travel permit to travel (sic).”
