Director Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai has grabbed the limelight after its lead actor Dhanush announced that he had started shooting for the trilogy, with Vada... set to be the first installment. The recent development is that actor Karunas who shared screen with Dhanush in Polladhavan, has come on board for the much-hyped project.

Speaking to DC, Karunas said, “I am very happy to have bagged the role and I am eager to be a part of a wonderful script. I will start shooting for Vada Chennai by the end of July. The script has a tight screenplay and this is the second time I am acting under Vetrimaaran’s direction.”

Meanwhile, rumours about Karunas’ resigning from his Nadigar Sangam post have been making rounds in the Kolly circuit. However, he has no such plans. “My quote was exaggerated. I merely stated that I might quit if I am not able to handle my commitments. However, I am in no state of mind to resign from Nadigar Sangam. My service to the organisation will continue forever,” he concluded.
