Samuthirakani to direct Sasikumar and Nani
The untitled flick will be a Tamil Telugu bilingual.
Multi-faceted director Samuthirakani’s films speak about several societal issues and he also takes the effort of offering solutions for them. His latest offering Thondan, that starred him and Vikranth was an average grosser. Samuthirakani is now busy shooting for Kaala and Vetri Maaran’s Vada Chennai.
The actor-director is also planning his next directorial venture. Speaking to DC, Samuthirakani says, “It was my long time dream to reunite with Sasikumar. I am in talks with him for my next film which will be made as a bilingual. In Telugu, we are negotiating with Nani. I am planning to shoot it simultaneously so we are working out the dates of both Sasikumar and Nani. Both are busy with their projects in their respective languages, so we are yet to zero in on the schedule.”
A source close to Sasikumar stated that the actor is extremely interested in doing the project. The duo shares a great camaraderie and Samuthirakani has directed Sasikumar in two films — Nadodigal and Poraali. It will be refreshing to see them together yet again on screen. An official announcement on the same will be out in the coming months.
