Majid Majidi's next is Gold Mine

After completing Beyond the Clouds, a film based in India, Iranian director Majid Majidi is all set with his next, which is yet again set in the Indian backdrop. Titled Gold Mine, the film’s subject came to Majidi’s mind during his frequent visits to North India. He has been developing the idea since then and has done a recce of the place where his story is based on, a source says.
Talking about his second project set in India, Majidi stated, “I’ve always believed that India has so many stories to tell within its myriad cultures of people from a different milieu. The ambience of India is just magical, truly incomparable to any other country. Within that ambience, exists a wonderful relationship between human beings and nature. The undying spirit of people and their hope for life despite their hardships is unbelievable. That’s what really inspired me to shoot my next film in India once again.”
Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora will once again collaborate with Majidi as producers for this flick. They say, “We share a common belief of India being a ‘gold mine’ of compelling stories that has a global connect. We are very happy to be taking more of India to the world. Casting and other technical crew are being worked out.”
