A slick horror comedy for Jiiva
The actor will be seen in Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae, directed by Ike.
After Kavalai Vendam, actor Jiiva is eagerly looking forward to the release of Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae, helmed by debutant director Ike. Having assisted ace directors Priyadarshan and Kamal Haasan, Ike, the grandchild of veteran actor MR Radha is all kicked about his first project.
Speaking to DC, Ike says, “I worked closely with Priyadarshan and Kamal Haasan in my formative years. With the experience I gained, I had the confidence to do my own film. When I started penning the script for Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae, I wanted it to be a horror comedy. It was a relatively new genre when we started out, but it has now become the most popular. I believe that the treatment of screenplay would make SKBT stand out in the crowd.”
SKBT is a slick horror comedy with a dose of family drama. “Jiiva plays a guy who hails from down South. Also, we have given Soori a make-over in the film and he will be sporting a different look. For Jiiva, it is the first time he is teaming up with the entire cast of SKBT. A lot of people were sceptical about Jiiva and Soori’s camaraderie, but they got along extremely well after the first day of shoot,” he shares.
SKBT, produced by Atlee’s A for Apple Production, boasts an ensemble cast of Radikaa, Radha Ravi, Thambi Ramaiah, Ilavarasu, Kovai Sarala and Devadarshini. Editor TS Suresh, cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, art director Lalgudi Ilayaraja form the technical team.
