Back with a bang!
Harish has had a pretty good start to the year.
It has been some time since we saw actor Harish on the big screen, his previous major film being Muthukku Muthaaga (2011) and Nethru Indru (2014). “I have been away from films for a while,” Harish admits, “But this year is going to be my comeback year and I have already signed on a couple of films with more, hopefully, on the way.” Currently shooting for 0 Mudhal 1 Varai, a multi-hero action flick by first-time director Yasin, with fellow actor Richard, Harish has had a pretty good start to the year.
He talks about how he enjoys working with multi-hero storylines as long as the role is justified. It’s also the director’s debut film — “I love working with all directors, whether new or established. I believe that as an actor, you need to explore different dimensions, and that happens when we work with different directorial styles,” he asserts.
Growing up in a cine-family — his father, Ganesh Kumar, was a film editor who worked with K Balachander — played a huge role in encouraging Harish to opt this career. “My father has been the greatest role model in my life, and I dedicate my accomplishments to him.”
Is it difficult to make a mark as an upcoming male actor? “Not at all! Every year, you hear about a lot of introductions. If the industry never allowed new male actors, then we would never have a Sivakarthikeyan or Vijay Sethupathi, who are stars now. People are following films like crazy, and their viewership is pulling actors to the forefront,” he says.
On a concluding note, he gives an insight about his future projects — ““I can’t reveal much, but I’m going to be apart of Muthu Manickam’s film, which is yet to be named. There’s discussion for another movie ongoing and it should be announced by the month end.”
