Beon Surrao, who is debuting as a music director with Naalu Perku Nalladhuna Edhuvum Thappilla, has managed to rope in the new-age sensation Anirudh Ravichander to sing for him. Says Beon, “There’s only one song in the film. So I wanted to try something different, and approached Anirudh. Making music composers sing is the latest trend in Kollywood, and Anirudh is a much-sought-after singer these days. The song is quite unconventional, too. Since Anirudh and I know each other from our college days, there’s is a comfort level that made him say ‘yes’ to me immediately. The song is called Kullanari Kootam.”

Speaking about the film, the newbie tells us, “Naalu Perku... is a story about friendship,  revenge and four people’s thirst for money. Also, this is one of popular dialogues that Mani Ratnam wrote for Nayagan. Karthik of Office fame is playing the lead in this film.”

Beon has been composing, recording, and producing music for a long time — “But my goal is to make it big as a music director. I have a band, and as musicians we have different influences, tastes and preferences. Through jam sessions and cultural performances, I slowly developed myself as a complete musician. No doubt, we also need time to create art,” he concludes on a lighter note.
