Ramesh helps Srushti overcome fear of ghosts

Ramesh returns to K’town after a brief stint as an actor-producer with the horror comedy Jithan 2. It is a sequel to his Tamil debut with the same name and is being directed by Rahul. The movie opens with the same scene on which it had ended in Jithan.
Says Ramesh, “When horror films were not in vogue, I did Jithan, a fantasy horror which was based on Ram Gopal Varma’s story. Its sequel was shot mostly at Kodaikanal in a bungalow, as it is an integral part of the script.” Talking about the spooky experiences his team had, he says, “The team members and I were staying at a huge guest house, from where we were commuting to the shooting locale. Apparently, Rahul, Vincent Selva and my cinematographer Suresh encountered a supernatural presence there, and Suresh was in a state of shock during the first day of the shoot. When I asked them, they said they saw weird ghostly images moving during the night. I was the only one who was spared by the ghost, I guess! Perhaps, it was scared of me (laughs).”
Narrating hsi co-star’s Srushti’s plight, he adds, “On hearing the eerie experiences of the team, Srushti was terrified and was worried that she would also face such paranormal activity, although she was put up at a different hotel. We had to coax her into coming for the shoots, and promised that her safety would be taken care of!” The epic irony to all this? It is Srushti who essays the ghost in Jithan 2!
