Ajay Devgn joins Kamal Haasan's Indian 2!
If the collaboration materialises, the film will mark Ajay's K-town debut.
It’s official! Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn will be part of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, a sequel to the hit film directed by Shankar. In a recent interview, Kamal, who is promoting his upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2, confirmed rumours of the Singham actor’s inclusion in the project, saying, “That’s what I have been told. It is the director’s call”.
If the collaboration materialises, the film will mark Ajay’s K-town debut. He will be following in the footsteps of his wife Kajol, who recently did the Tamil film VIP 2.
The 1996 film Indian saw Kamal Haasan playing both father and son in a double role, with Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar as the female leads. The film told the story of a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante who took a strong stand against corruption, and it ended with the father killing his corrupt son and disappearing from the scene.
Indian 2 is rumoured to have Nayanthara romancing Kamal. Shankar has roped in biggies like Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar to pen the dialogues. The sequel, which is tipped to be a political thriller, will give the actor-turned-politician ample opportunity to convey his political ideologies to the public. The movie is likely to go on floors at the end of this year at Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad, where huge sets are reportedly being constructed.
