Road safety issue must be addressed: Maran
Besides wielding the megaphone, he also acts as the lead guy in PV, which talks about road safety and praises traffic cops.
Dr Maran, who has done research in traffic regulations and road safety and is a college professor, is foraying into films with the movie Pachai Vilakku. His passion for cinema made him to take up a course in the Film Institute as well.
Besides wielding the megaphone, he also acts as the lead guy in PV, which talks about road safety and praises traffic cops.
“This script is based on my research on road safety. I have done two short films on the subject. It is not preachy and narrated in an interesting manner with the knot taken from real life incidents,” he claims.
“There’s an adage that Vidhi meeriya kadhalum, vidhi meeriya payanamum oor poi seraadhu (One has to follow certain rules — be it in their love or journey — failing which they will never reach their destinations). My film also is on those lines. I am dealing with road safety and traffic cops from three different dimensions. I have spoken about traffic wardens who work part time in tandem with police to create road safety awareness. The focus is on the basic rule ‘MSM — Mirror Signal Manoeuvre’. Imman Annachi essays a SI. There’s a romantic angle too. Dheesha from Chennai essays the lead lady. And there’s a ghost who punishes those who violate road rules. She has a reason to do that. Roopika from Kannada will be seen as the ghost,” he explains.
Shooting in NH45 and other roads in the city was a challenging one, he reveals. “We took proper permission from police department to shoot on highways and other arterial roads.” Manobala and Sri Mahesh play key roles while Nandakumar is the baddie.
