Irrespective of whether a ghost exists or not which is a debatable subject, ghost stories always kindle interest and supernatural thrillers are the favourite subject of filmmakers. Similarly, stories on Aghoris narrated with logic evince attention with Tamil audiences,” remarked ace Bhagyaraj at the trailer launch of the film Aghori, even as he took a dig at the genre. “I always wonder if ghosts and spirits exist and they take revenge on people who murdered them, why do we need police stations? Why are policemen searching for the criminals? So, there's no such thing called Pei (ghost). It is just a 'concept' which we are selling in films (smiles). Likewise, films on Aghoris can be told in any format, but only interesting narration will thrive.”

The movie is produced by popular dubbing specialist RP Bala (with films like Puli Murugan and Lucifer to his credit) and Suresh K. Menon features Sayaji Shinde as the main character. Directed by Rajkumar, Aghori features Mime Gopi, Siddhu, Vetri and Karthik in crucial roles. Actress Kasturi, PT Selvakumar and PG Muthaiah were among those who spoke on the occasion.
