Sshivada does an intense role in Iravaakaalam
Iravaakaalam, a thriller, is about three lead characters played by SJ Suryah, Sshivada and Wamiqa Gabbi.
For an actress to get a significant role in K’town is as rare as hen’s teeth. However, Sshivada keeps finding some consistently. From Nendunchaalai to Adhe Kangal, in all of her films, she has proved herself to be someone who can emote. In a chat with her, we ask how she is good at bagging the right script — “It is not like I keep hearing only nice scripts. I do get some bad ones, but I choose them only if I am interested in a story. I am lucky since the ones that I choose turn out really good.”
Iravaakaalam, a thriller, is about three lead characters played by SJ Suryah, Sshivada and Wamiqa Gabbi. “I have to thank my director (Ashwin Saravanan) for choosing me to play this role because it is a very mature one. A person who has great experience should do this, but they have taken a risk and have given it to a newcomer like me.”
On working with SJ Suryah — “I have grown up watching films he directed. Kushi is one of my favourite movies. I met him for the first time on the sets of the film. He is a versatile actor. When your co-actor is full of energy and performs great, his/her energy transfers to you as well. That’s what has happened to me during the shoot.”
Sshivada is also awaiting the release of two of her films —Kattam and Vallavanuku Vallavan, which has Bobby Simha in the lead. “VV is a complete entertainer. I won’t say I will be playing an intense character in it, but it will be a fun one. I have also signed another film in Tamil but it is too early to talk about it.”
